The news that Trump attorney Michael Cohen secretly worked for Sean Hannity has many, many people on Twitter making the same joke: Now might be a convenient time for Hannity to go on "vacation". A little dramatic. Her bodyguards must cost a pretty penny, because they're quite effective.
It not is clear why Hannity hired Mr Cohen. Cohen reportedly did "traditional legal tasks" for three clients ― Trump, former Republican National Committee official Elliott Brody and a third person who asked to remain anonymous.
In a statement issued by Fox, he said, "Michael Cohen has never represented me in any matter".
The Cohen raid, conducted by Federal Bureau of Investigation agents with a search warrant a week ago, sought evidence of those payments, which could violate laws on bank fraud and campaign contributions.
Until now, we knew Cohen repped Trump and paid hush money to cover up Trump's alleged affairs.
As seen during the April 16 edition of "The Late Show", host Stephen Colbert chose to mock the Fox News host. And he was not about to let the news about his Cohen connection change that. The Russia investigation has frustrated the White House as it has spread to enfold some of Trump's closest confidantes.
"As to the one unnamed legal client, we do not believe that Mr. Cohen should be asked to reveal the name or can permissibly do so", the lawyers added. "Now, what that means is [special counsel Robert S.] Mueller's witch-hunt investigation is now a runaway train that is clearly careening off the tracks", said Hannity.
"When I called the raid on Michael D. Cohen's office a "fishing expedition" last week, it completely slipped my mind that my lawyer is, in fact, Michael D. Cohen", the Fox News host told his viewers.
Hannity said he "occasionally had brief discussions about legal questions" with Cohen, and that he assumed those discussions were protected by attorney-client privilege.

Those two threes came after the Bucks' Malcolm Brogdon tied the game with a 32-foot, three-point jumper with 10.3 seconds left. Boston's Terry Rozier hit the expected game-winner for Boston to take a three-point lead with just over a second left.
McKay, the federal prosecutor, said in a court motion arguing against this that Cohen's request was "unprecedented and is not supported by case law". "On going troubles for the man who paid off Stormy Daniels, New York Attorney and sad neck with hair, Michael Cohen", Colbert said.
Stephen Ryan, a lawyer for Cohen, drew gasps and laughter from the public gallery when he named Hannity as the client.
Cohen appears to have taken a different position than Trump on how the documents should be handled.
A federal judge dealt a legal setback to President Trump on Monday, denying his bid to review records seized in an FBI search of his personal attorney's home and office before federal prosecutors review them.
Todd Harrison, a lawyer for Cohen, said at Friday's hearing that "thousands" of documents seized were likely privileged, and that many related to clients other than Trump.
But a letter to the court, Cohen's lawyers painted a very different version of events. "All lawyers are deflated and concerned".
His lawyers want to be allowed to decide which items seized are protected by attorney-client privilege before criminal prosecutors see them.
Prosecutors responded Monday in a letter to Wood that "there is no basis for the assertion by the president that career federal prosecutors, designated to a filter team, can not fairly evaluate whether certain files, obtained by a judicially-authorized search warrant contain privileged material".
