The jobless rate for the Killeen-Temple metro area was unchanged at 4.1 percent in March. Unemployment was 4.2 percent statewide in March and 4.1 percent for the entire country.
The U.S. rate is on a similar holding pattern at 4.1 percent since October and in a range of 4.1 percent to 4.5 percent over the past 12 months.
Only Marin County's rate was lower among North Bay counties.
Massachusetts' labor force increased by 14,200 from 3,669,500 in February.
Friday's report said the state added a modest 13,800 jobs last month, pushing the total to 173,100 for the past year.

Florida added 12,500 new public sector jobs in March pushing the jobs growth tally over 1.5 million during his tenure, Gov. Rick Scott announced Friday in Orlando.
The state's labor force participation rate - the total number of residents 16 or older who worked or were unemployed and actively sought work in the last four weeks - increased over the month by two-tenths of a percentage point to 65.6 percent. The prior record low was 3.0 percent set in May, June, and July 1999. Education & health services and professional & business services both reached new record highs in March. All 10 private-sector industry categories have had a net gain year over year. Additionally, previously reported private sector job losses of 300 from January 2018 to February 2018 were revised upward to a gain of 3,700. Financial activities added 1,100 jobs (+0.03 percent); manufacturing added 900 jobs (+0.15 percent); construction added 600 jobs (+0.27 percent); and other services added 200 jobs (+0.08 percent).
In South Carolina, Fairfield County had the highest unemployment rate in March at 8 percent. Walden estimates that between 60,000 and 70,000 North Carolinians now are in the dropout category. There were 45,960 people employed, 743 more than February. That put Florida in third place nationally for the speed at which the rate is dropping, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Nonetheless, Director Jeff Mays says he's encouraged by the stabilization of the labor force.
