Trump reiterated in an interview broadcast Sunday that he thinks Kim is serious about denuclearization.
Earlier, the State Department confirmed that a u.s. delegation led by Sung Kim, the USA ambassador to the Philippines, met with North Korean counterparts at Panmunjom on the border between North and South Korea on Sunday "to discuss next steps on the implementation" of the summit declaration. "If I hadn't, we would now be at war with North Korea!" - he wrote.
The Washington Post reported on Saturday that USA intelligence officials have concluded that North Korea does not intend to fully give up its nuclear arsenal and is considering ways to hide the number of weapons it has. "All of Asia is thrilled", he said in a tweet. The improvements include several new buildings and modifications to the plutonium production reactor's cooling system. The Financial Times reported that Pompeo was due to visit North Korea this week but Reuters has not been able to confirm his travel plans.
Interviewed on NBC's Meet the Press, Lindsey Graham of SC said North Korea would "regret it" if nuclear talks collapsed.
Sung Kim is a former USA envoy for North Korea and led policy negotiations with Pyongyang in advance of the summit.
The reports, citing an unidentified diplomatic source, said that Andrew Kim, head of the CIA's Korea Mission Center, delivered a letter from Pompeo to Kim Yong Chol, North Korea's main envoy in talks.

National security adviser John Bolton said on CBS's "Face the Nation" earlier Sunday that Secretary of State Mike Pompeo would communicate with the North Koreans in the near future about the dismantling of their weapons of mass destruction as well as their nuclear and ballistic missile programs.
There have been reports Kim's regime has failed to honor its denuclearization pledge after the meeting. But rather than have a series of reports, things are going better, things are not going well, they're concealing this, they're not concealing that, really, it doesn't serve the goal of advancing the negotiations.
"There's no evidence that they are decreasing stockpiles, or that they have stopped their production", one anonymous official told NBC News last week. He then told Fox News that his North Korean counterpart is "strong", "funny", "smart" and a "great negotiator".
He said the administration was well-aware of North Korea's track record over the decades in dragging out negotiations with the U.S.to continue weapons development. He said North Korea's weapons program could largely be ended in a year.
Meanwhile, United Nations forces are still waiting at the Korean border village of Panmunjom to receive the remains of Americans who died during the Korean War - even though it was one of the four central agreements in Trump and Kim's joint declaration.
