"When we did see the success of Roseanne, which really reminded us that a family comedy with a strong point of view and strong central character that would play well with the middle of the country, can be a pretty powerful show to have. But, the character itself, I don't think we'll address upon one way or another", Abbott said. Casting for the character has not been announced yet, but the writers plan to introduce the character early in Season 7.
"Going back over a year now when Last Man Standing was canceled on ABC, we really had a desire to bring that show back", Newman said. Whatever is good for his business, good for the state of Colorado, he's going to go with'. "All of you. man, I'm telling you. we would not be standing here [without the fans]".
But as far as "Roseanne" is concerned, Allen said ABC "had to do what they had to do and it's their decision".
"And, I don't know what Roseanne... but, I'm telling you, that's not the woman I know. We know we're going to have tremendous material to promote it with because that show, joke for joke, is I think, as amusing as any show on TV".
