CenturyLink put out a hopeful message to its exasperated customers Thursday night: Engineers had identified a "network element" that was impacting its services. It provided no other details, including how many customers were affected. A media representative was not available for comment.
However, the company has yet to restore service, and has been providing regular updates on its Twitter page about the status of the outages.
