Besides Kher, who has essayed the role of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in the movie, others named in the complaint include actor Akshaye Khanna, who plays Singh's former media advisor Sanjaya Baru, on whose book the movie is based.
Moments after the release of The Accidental Prime Minister trailer, the damaging movie had received some severe backlash for its timing, which comes months before the Lok Sabha polls. According to ANI, the court has now directed that an FIR be filed.
